Western Culinary Institute
The Western Culinary Institute offers Le Cordon Bleu programs in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management. The core of WCI's curriculum is the hands-on teaching of cooking and baking skills, as well as the theoretical knowledge behind both fields. Its aim is to expose students to the different styles and experiences of the school's chefs and instructors, familiarize you with a wide variety of equipment and prepare you for whatever area of the industry you choose to enter. The Western Culinary Institute is located on the outskirts of downtown Portland. The facilities are located on the main campus and in an new annex three blocks away. The main campus includes 6 lecture classrooms with audio-visual equipment, 10 kitchen classrooms and a computer lab. The new 11,000 square foot annex houses the new Le Cordon Bleu Restaurant Management program, and provides additional classroom space for culinary arts students, including three kitchen labs, two computer labs, a wine studies lab, a lecture classroom and a student lounge area. The facility also includes a 100-seat, full-service restaurant and bar which brings together culinary arts and restaurant management students.
